TomTom And The iPhone Bring GPS Home
Can honestly say that I did not expect to see TomTom coming to the iPhone, let alone this soon. I say this as I had pegged some of the other big named GPS vendors being first on this front. Either way, it sounds like the TomTom app is going to be pretty darned cool based on what I can tell.
In addition to the app itself, TomTom for the iPhone will also be complimented with various accessories, most likely designed to allow for easy mounting of the iPhone to one’s car. Makes sense, especially when compared to the idea of trying to use it from one’s lap instead.
Will the TomTom for the iPhone be as good as a traditional GPS unit stand alone device? I guess it depends. Yes from the perspective of savings, no if I am unable take phone calls without losing my GPS screen while driving. Bluetooth or not, this would be a real buzz regardless of provided GPS functionality.
