They Can Apple At Home And So Can You!

There should be an image here!Today I learned that Apple is or at least, was hiring experienced users to work the help desks from the comfort of their homes. Speaking as a guy who is fortunate enough to remain gainfully employed working at home himself, this is a great opportunity for those who eat, sleep and breathe OS X.

What is so cool about opportunities like this is that it translates into jobs here in North America (US mostly I suspect) instead of shipping yet more jobs overseas at cut rate prices, which as any Dell customer can translate into a mixed experience depending on who you end up with.

This also translates into a cost savings for Apple. So as one might imagine, as the jobs fill up, we see a win-win for everyone involved. One thing is for sure. This extension of the helpdesk is likely due to a growth in products like the iPhone and iPod. As discussed previously in another article, it sure is not likely due to the Mac, which as seen a drop in sales along with the PC industry. But I am sure AppleCare calls keep the phones ringing regardless.
