Psystar Throws Out Its Net For Netbooks

Psystar is, at its core, taking some pretty big gambles with its efforts to sell OS X on PCs rather than opting to see about becoming an Apple reseller instead. Psystar also has quite the history in the realm of lawsuits and other legal adventures.

But what would happen if Psystar opts to release a netbook loaded with OS X? Ah, this would be a serious problem. This immediately translates into Psystar becoming a much bigger player in the OS X game than it ever was with just selling OS X loaded desktop PCs.

Does any of this really affect Apple at its core? No, as you will never roll into a big box store and buy a Psystar OS X loaded PC off of the shelf. And thanks to this, Apple is safe. But the truth be told, if there were netbooks loaded up with OS X sitting the shelves of various big box stores, they would definitely be selling.

Sounds like they are going about it the wrong way and will not succeed by copying a Mac. The quality just might not be there for each system. One of the things that you rely on in a Mac is Quality Control not just putting a system together like the way most P.C.S are done…

A netbook with OS X would be sweet. I’ve been tempted to buy one of the systems from Psystar but my Mac mini is enough for me at this period of time.

I got a Dell mini9 to hackintoch. But after a while with Ubuntu I may just let it be. As long as the OS works, it works.
