Biased Against Other Mobile Platforms?

So just how out of touch is the mobile platform analytics system? If you believe what is being said here, there may be some cause for concern as clearly, the statistics being presented are not entirely accurate. Should we, as mobile users, find ourselves concerned that it feels like the only platforms getting any press these days are those of the Apple or Google mobile camps? Frustrating as it may be, the problem is that it is those two mobile platforms that are making news right now. Fair or not, there it is.
Then there is the issue with Apple related blogs being too self-serving in which apps are given press and which are not? Again, if it is a blog/website designed to talk about Apple products, then would it not be sort of silly to spend time also including products provided by companies not designing for Apple’s platform(s)?
Speaking for myself personally, I think that the iPhone and Google Android products are big news because they are compelling to use, engaging to the end user and provide a new sense of discovery for mobile users. Windows Mobile and Symbian are not - pure and simple. I might be willing to argue that there are times I find Windows Mobile to be a strong contender with access to Word and Excel, Symbian is a joke and is a dated, boring mobile OS that is about as compelling to use as a calculator watch from the ’80s. But understand, this is merely my humble opinion. Your mileage will vary.
