Yelp Me Raggy – Yelp On The iPhone!
Ever since first hearing of Yelp, I have been of the mind that the service was clearly named in honor of the late, great Scooby-Doo as no other sane person would call something “Yelp”. That aside, the Yelp service that we have all come to know and love continues to be an available application for iPhone users.
Considering this app is also utilizing GPS for ease of use for the location you happen to be at, I can see Yelp doing better in this mobile space than in the typical web based area. After all, we take our iPhones everywhere while the notebook, may likely be left back at the house. Just something to consider.
As expected, Yelp’s priceless reviews are made available for the venue of your choosing, right from your fingertips. Despite the iPhone app already being about a year old, it is already seeing roughly 5% of Yelp’s traffic originating from this mobile device. Odd, I would have figured this number as being much higher, but let’s give it another year before writing that idea off.

I have used Yelp pretty regularly but you have to go through the comments because many people rate oddly. They might give 5 stars because there was a cute waitress or only 1 star because the bathroom hand dryers were loud.
Plus nothing stops employees or business owners from doctoring the reviews :)
I have found good comments though about specials or specialty dishes that I probably wouldn’t have known about without a regular’s tips.
