Putting OS X Into Marble

Apple’s latest release of OS X is said to be up for a bit of a GUI refresh, or an interface refresh anyway. The new UI is said to be code named “marble”. Normally, I would not put much stock into all of this as clearly, nothing has been confirmed yet. Still, based on potential mock-ups I have seen thus far, this could be a long overdue reworking on the OS X UI.

Perhaps even more importantly, unlike we have seen with Windows, the potential here is to expand on what is already working for Apple’s OS. In short, add just enough to make it look even better…but not to change around everything Apple users have come to expect from their favorite OS. Messing with this aspect, could spell real trouble down the road.

And finally, the really big question that is undoubtedly on everyone’s mind - will the new UI look like marble, as the code name insinuates? I am inclined to say no. But I am sure it will share some characteristics.
