Hello,
I just installed the upgrade 3.0. It installed over the previous version and now I am having problems with the blue screen of death. I have isolated it to anything that has to do with tools. I cannot install the new version and I am concerned that I should have uninstalled the tools before I upgraded. If I was to do that, I missed the instruction and actually think that the software engineers should have put code in to do that automatically.

I have alerted Parallels about this via email but have not heard anything back yet. I am sure they are overwhelmed with emails and calls.

What is your thinking on this?

thanks

Bit of a bummer that the UK price is twice that of the US price. It’s a download after all it’s not like it’s being stuck in the post going in a plane across the pond and then in a van to my house!

I been using Parallels since I first got a MacBook with the Intel chipset. However, having run into some glitches in Parallels myself I’ve been testing VMware for the Mac and so far it is much faster and more stable than Parallels. YMMV

it is a wonderful product marred by a very poor support !
I had bought the (boxed cd) Italian version 2 here in Milan and a few days ago wanted to upgrade to Desktop 3. (directly from Parallels’ site)
the site did not clearly showed any difference so I ended up upgrading to the US version which, SURPRISE, is incompatible with the european versions !
so far absolutedly no help from the “customer support” other than the automatic responses. I guess I trew away 50 euros for nothing…
and I guess I’ll go to VMWare .
