The MacBook Has Landed!

Yes, today is the day that I can finally use my “build to order” MacBook. First impression… Freaking awesome! This machine totally rocks!
I did not really know what my expectations were, but this machine really exceeded them. But if I have to give some criticism about this MacBook, it would be the lack of an adapter for my second screen.
When I bought my powerbook, the adapter was included with the package. What’s really annoying is the fact that you need a new type of adapter and you can’t use the old one.
At this point I’m just working on the little screen, which is not a problem, but the second screen is very convenient.
So my little wish list contains the following items:
- Power Adapter (for on the road)
- DVI Adapter
Going to put in the order today; hopefully I will have these items next week!
To make the post complete, here is the configuration I use:
- MacBook Intel Core Dual 2.0 Ghz
- Memory: 1 Gig
- Hard disk: 80 Gig
- Superdrive
I’m so glad with my new MacBook… did I say this already?

I also opted for the MacBook with the same spec as yours - I went for the black model. It is an awsome machine and I was so impressed. It replaced my aging PowerBook 12″ and I also found the lack of DVI adapter a pain. I have a Mac Pro set up at home and regularly hook the MacBook up to the Cinema Display so this was an extra purchase! An aditional power adapter is a must!

John,
You really should increase the memory to 2GB. Mac OS X loves RAM. Also, those applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite) that use Rosetta eat memory at a ferocious rate.

Dave,
I am going to upgrade my memory. I run parallels also and that really eats memory. So indeed you really need the upgrade!! :)
