Apple Going the Way of “Ugly PC” with MacBook in Black?

I get the iPod white and black color option, but wasn’t the entire Mac portable line suppose to be different than all those black PC notebooks? Remember, PowerBooks use to be black, but it was Steve Jobs that set them apart from the PCs by yanking the black. Sure, no one has pure black any more (though I stare at my pure black four year-old Dell Inspiron 8100 that lays off and rested on its dock before me) but that’s because all the other guys were trying to follow Apple and be cool.
I’m only throwing out the notion that maybe black wasn’t the greatest idea. Yeah, it’s a glossy black and no laptop has ever been glossy. Yeah, Apple’s black is kinda like Porsche’s silver– it’s just not the color, its the model–but still, was black a good color to go with? I know iPod sales are high in the black color and this most likely is the reason for the MacBook getting dipped in the darker resin than it’s paler brother but I still have to ask, “Black? Isn’t that a PC color?” What do you think?

The black MacBook would be my first choice (I saw it, I feld it and I love it), if wasn’t so that Apple thinks we are willing to pay more for just the color.
My company (200 Mac’s) would buy black MacBook’s, but for the same reason, they buy the white ones, even if they get dirty in the hands of a traveller.
