Intel iBook: Truth Or Just An April Fools Joke?

  • No Related Post

Now SvenOnTech is hearing that some think Intel iBooks will be sprung on us at Apple’s 30th anniversary this April 1st. That, along with the iPod video and some media center release. Really, that much? You know, it’s possible - I mean, that would tie into the 3 in 30, right? But is this media center thing just rumorware?

There’s really been no strong evidence for the media center other then FrontRow which is, in all honesty, really weak right now. I couldn’t imagine a big leap in the software this soon after an upgrade at MacWorld. A Mac mini with FrontRow could be the media center everyone would like to think is coming, but that’s just a Mac mini, folks. No, I don’t see this coming… yet.

I figure we’ll see the iBook since it is close to the original June-ish date Steve originally told us about at WWDC. This would factor in well with that date. I can also see an iPod video coming too, though we’ve heard about the wireless iPod for over a year now and even with documented proof that Apple’s chip vendor supports this feature, we’re still using wires to get our music. It may just be that this is vaporware, too, and the iBook is what we’ll really get this April Fools Day. Maybe.
