Installing RAM In Core Duo iMac Is Simple

So, after picking up one of the new Core Duo iMacs, it became apparent that the amount of RAM that ships with the system is virtually unacceptable for the day to day usage of someone who works heavily with multimedia. Having attempted RAM installation on my last iMac, I knew this one would be a challenge. However, that was a price I was willing to pay to save cash. Buying the RAM yourself saves you about $350 off the price Apple charges you for the same amount of RAM - 2 GB in this case.

When the RAM arrived, I realized how easy Apple made it to install on the new machines. There was no longer any need to open up the bezel - you simple unscrew a panel at the bottom of the screen, slide the RAM in, and screw the panel back on. This takes no more than three minutes to accomplish. Nice job, Apple. Check out full installation procedure, with images, at Gear Live.
