OS X Insecure?

According to the security expert Neal Archibald, OS X is insecure. He states that there are many old leaks which are solved for years in other operating systems. The only thing that’s keeping these leaks from popping up is the low market share. He says that, unless Apple is addressing these issues, the security future for Apple users isn’t very good.
He also mentioned that Apple needs to work on the way they respond to security experts. It seems that Apple responds very slowly on security issues when the experts point them out. That has to change…
To be honest, I was a bit amazed by this because in my opinion OS X was the most secure operating system out there. But as the popularity grows, so does the criticism and if these statements are for real, Apple really should have to get its act together - this could potentially be a show-stopper for the company. I mean look at Microsoft, it gets a load of heat every single day about its security and patching policy.
