The Weakest Link (GoLive CS2)

Do you remember that English woman in the popular television show of a few years ago that would stand in front of a group of contestants and in a bitter and belittling manner look at one of the poor souls on stage and tell them “You are the weakest link! Goodbye”? Well I felt like I could of used her this last week after I spent time with another of the Adobe Creative Suite 2 programs, GoLive. If you’ve followed my articles here on Surf-Bits, you’ve seen how happy I’ve been with the new products introduced in Adobe Creative Suite 2. I loved the new Photoshop features and Adobe Illustrator has really made it easier to work with. The new Adobe bridge is a great enhancement that ties all the separate programs in the suite together, and I’ve yet to review inDesign. So why am I being a bit negative toward GoLive? It’s not a bad program by any stretch, it’s just the obvious weakest one in the suite.

First I must say that I’ve been a longtime Dreamweaver user, so my natural inclination would be to compare GoLive to Dreamweaver. Now that’s not all bad, if you want to compete with the number one, you have to address the features in the number one. So remember as I discuss GoLive, I may be biased to Dreamweaver from past experience.
