You should know by now that I think external speakers for the iPod are a great idea. I love my inMotions from Altec Lansing. But what the iPod really needed was a simple, portable solution for listening to audio files on your iPod. I found the perfect solution, the Podwave from Macally.
The Podwave works on any iPod or iPod mini, in fact it works with any audio player with a 3.5mm jack. The sound is very good for the size of speaker, especially for spoken word or podcasts. For music it’s best described as similar to an old AM transistor radio. The idea is not to make it your main source for listening to your iPod, but to give you a portable, easy to use method to share your iPod with friend.
Here are the features…
Ultra-portable, battery operated mini stereo system for your iPod
• Enjoy your iPod music without headsets or large wired external speakers
• Share music with friends anywhere, anytime
• ON/OFF switch to save battery life while not in use
• Works with iPod, iPod Mini or any audio players with a 3.5mm jack
• Single AA battery (included) lasts up to 8 hours of continuous use
• 500mW power output per channel for exceptional stereo sound
The Podwave lists at $39.00 from Macally.com. It is now an essential part of my iPod accessory pack and it should be in yours too.
