Helping My PC Play Nice With My Mac

As most Switchers will tell you, we normally keep our PCs around after buying our first Mac. I have a few applications for work that could easily be replaced by better looking, easier to use, and more feature-rich software for the Mac, but my fellow office workers are still stuck in the world of Windows. If you’ve read my articles, you’ll remember there are several software and hardware items I use to make my PC play nice with my Mac. One of those products I use is MacDrive from Mediafour.
OS X can easily see my PC disks, but when I needed to read my Mac formatted external hard drive, or a CD or DVD I burned in my TiBook from my PC, I was out of luck. I used MacDrive 5 and was very satisfied opening, editing and saving Mac files on my PC, but MacDrive 6 just came out and added some great new features. Now I can format Mac drives, and burn Mac CDs and DVDs from Windows. MacDrive 6 also expands on the ability to format Mac disks by enabling you to partition your hard drives with the MacDrive Disk Manager. MacDrive also protects your partitions from harm by Windows disk tools and warns you if your drives were not properly shut down.
