It’s that time of year again. Time to whip out the credit cards to buy that special someone the gift of their dreams, or at least some cool gadget. This year, one of the biggest buys will be the Apple iPod, but you must “call now, supplies are limited.” Don’t we hear that every year for the hot ticket items? According to AppleInsider:

Apple Computer chief executive Steve Jobs said last week that even though his company is pumping out more iPods than ever, demand might outstrip supply this holiday season.

Really? Can we believe there may actually be a shortage of iPods? I personally love the iPod, but I wouldn’t buy one two months early as a gift just because Apple says there may be a shortage. What are your thoughts? Can we truly believe large companies like Apple, or is it all marketing hype?
