iChat Security Update

A security flaw has been found in Apple’s iChat instant messaging client that may allow hackers to take control of your computer. The flaw apparently allows hackers to send a link to you with hidden content that allows access to some of your native system resources. The Security Advisory Team, Secunia, relates “The problem is that links aren’t properly validated before being opened. This can be exploited to launch programs by embedding references to local resources.”
Fortunately, to fix this “highly critical” security flaw, all you should do is run Software Update from the System Preferences control panel in OS X, restart, and chat away. iChat, do you?
