According to Mac Minute it would appear that Apple has been sending out emails to those customers whom ordered a G5 with the NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL Graphics Card stating to the effect that they will not be able to ship them until the 13th of September. However, it seems they are taking care of them by installing an ATI card, shipping the G5, and then sending the nVidia card at a later date. MacMinute
“Dear Apple Customer, Thank you for ordering the new Power Mac G5 with NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL graphics card. Unfortunately, we cannot meet the August 31st ship date previously estimated to you due to an unexpected delay. Your satisfaction is important to us and we’d like to provide you options to get your system sooner. If you plan to use a monitor that does not have a specific graphics card requirement, we are offering to ship your system with an ATI Radeon 9600 XT w/128MB SDRAM card by September 3rd and will send an NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL Graphics Card Stand-Alone Kit by September 17th. If you plan to use your new system with an Apple 30″ Cinema HD Display that only works with the NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL Graphics card or you would like your system to ship with the NVidia card installed, we now expect to ship your order by September 13th.”
