Changing the Login Window

As you may remember, I previously discussed how to change the Mac OS X boot panel background. Austin, one of our readers, was kind enough to write in and point out a tutorial on changing the login window as well. Its very simple to do and only takes a few minutes.

The file /System/Library/CoreServices/SecurityAgent.app/Contents/Resources/applelogo.tif is a 90 by 90 pixel image in TIFF format. It is the graphic displayed in the top of the login window. All you need to do is replace it with an image of the same size and type and you’re all set!

To view the tutorial Austin pointed us to, head on over to http://www.breakingrobots.net/blog/2004/08/10.html, and be sure to stick around for many more Mac OS X tips.
