I spend a lot of time working within Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, and one of my gripes about DW, is that I can see the desktop and every open window behind the current DW window that I’m working in. * Now, I’m a multi-tasker, so I have a number of applications running in the background, whether it’s my newsreader, iTunes, or if I’m compiling an image, I have a number of open windows open at one time. I’m also a pack rat; my desktop is loaded with icons, it is the catch-all area waiting to be sorted.

When I’m in DW I can easily hide all of the other applications/open windows so I just see the active DW windows, but there isn’t a simple way to hide the desktop clutter (ie icons). I set out to find a way to hide my desktop icons but still have the chaos that is my filing system (the desktop catch-all).
