Quartz Composer Screensaver

The first time I saw a spinning cube photo, it was on Myspace I always wondered how somebody could make something like that but I never did do any real research on it. Finally, I started browsing through the developer applications on my Macbook Pro and found this.
This is a screensaver that I was able to make using a preinstalled application on Mac OS-X Leopard called Quartz Composer.
There are many things you can do with this application including including dragging and dropping video clips and using them as screensavers.
I’ve made a cube screensaver using pictures from album covers of some of my favorite music on iTunes and I’ve also used a screencapture utility using iShowU to record a fireplace video, dragged and dropped it onto a composition and exported it as a screensaver. Or you could export it as a Quicktime movie. It’s a lot of fun.
