Firefox vs. Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer

  1. It comes with your computer so you don’t have to download and install anything and updates will run when you run updates for your PC
  2. Is supposedly easier to code for than other Web browsers such as Firefox
    • This usually doesn’t matter to the average home user

Firefox
  1. Isn’t integrated with your Operating System, therefore it is automatically a safer choice.
  2. If you get the latest stable release, it is always going to load pages faster than Internet Explorer
  3. Has a ton of great features and addons, some of which have been documented on this blog including:

  4. Is an open source application so it runs on any operating system including:

So for me, Firefox is the way to go. I don’t use Internet Explorer because it’s less secure, slower, and doesn’t have the addons that I like…unless I’d like to pay for them. Paying for addons for a Web browser is a really stupid course of action in my opinion. Even if I were a billionaire, I still wouldn’t pay for it.

Next time, I’ll do a review of the Opera Web browser
