Kittie-Cats

Never blogged before, and this is one hell of a way to get started!
I guess I need to set the seen so you understand where I’m coming from with this.
Some people like cats, some like dogs, some like hamsters, etc,etc…. Well, I fall under the “I like cats” category. So much so that we have six of them. Their names are Isis, Joie, Re-Re, Muffin, Sunshine, and Meatloaf. Isis is the oldest at 12-13 years old. Muffin, Meatloaf, and Sunshine are the youngest, and are siblings, about 3-4 years old
As with any pet, you get to know their habits, and can tell who’s doing what by the sounds you hear. Our cats stay outside 90% of the time. We live on the coast of North Carolina, so if a storm (hurricane) is coming, we let the cats in, or if it’s going to get below 40 degrees.
Tonight 10/16/07 I was listening/watching  http://chris.pirillo.com/ when I head a scratching sound. I thought it was “Muffin” wanting to go inside. I told her to stop, then slid my chair so I could see the door, but there was no cat. Then I heard the scratching again. So I got up and opened the door……There lay “Sunshine” unable to stand!
He could use his front legs without a problem, but his back right leg was still, and very little movement in the back left leg! I’m freaking out at this point……I wake wife and tell her about what’s going on with the cat. She, like me is freaking out.
So I get on the phone at 12:00-12:30 at night calling a vet. The first vet I call says it’s $150 just to look at my cat…Ok, so then he says (paraphrase) “I need an everything upfront to look at your cat tonight”. I tell him I’ll give him $100 cash tonight, and ask if he can bill the rest to me. he says no….Meanwhile my cat is laying on the floor….
I call a second vet that says it’s $100 to look at my cat. Cool, saved $50 with a second phone call! So now we’re on our way……We get there, the vet looks at the cat, and he finds a puncture wound. Then takes x-rays of my cat. Turns out that my cat has two (2) be-bes in him, and one is on his spine!!!
The vet sounded positive, but still talked about butting my kitty-cat down…
I want to know what punk-ass kid shot my cat, and why!!! Just for fun I assume….Who eats cats? Dad needs his ass kicked for not teaching the responsibilities that come with owning a gun!
Ok, that’s off my chest, now let’s hope my “Sunshine Kitty” is ok!
