Recently I started my ustream.tv account and started to record sample test clips. Well I recorded one about the “Top 20 Things a Talk-Show Host Should Do”. This is my version of the topic:

1. Have an interesting set that changes seasonally
   
2. Remain focused on the subject, don’t drift
   
3. Be informed about hot / current topics
   
4. Eyebrows groomed??
   
5. Listen to your guests
   
6. Have nice nails, great hair, and healthy teeth
   
7. Fabulous shoes?…can we say “gay”?
   
8. Exude – portray confidence in yourself, show, knowledge, and abilities
   
9. Help?
   
10. Earrings are for women
    
11. Be sharp, witty, and smart
    
12. Don’t talk crap
    
13. Be real
    
14. Offer personal information to audience
    
15. Always present the truth
    
16. Have a pleasant laugh
    
17. Have a cool entrance
    
18. Have a signature closing line
    
19. Always have the respect of the guests and of your audience
    
20. Give everyone in the studio audience a car, just because you can.
