How to Be in Two Places at Once

One thing people don’t know about me is that I have been dealing with spinal degenerative disorder since I was in college back in 1992. If your back has ever been out, multiply that by about three, and add occasional problems with your extremeties due to nerve damage. It’s weird that I’m sharing this here, because some of my family members don’t even realize how bad it gets sometimes.
I really can’t complain though, because as this disorder goes I lucked out in a major way. Some people have to have something installed in their bodies to self-administer morphine to manage the pain. At least I have alternatives that help me live a fairly normal life the majority of the time.
Given these issues, a question I constantly get is how I manage to get places when I couldn’t drive for medical reasons, what I do when I am sick and I have to be on the other side of town, and have a meeting in my office, what if I have to pick something up in town, and the list goes on.
My secret is having a personal concierge service. It might sound like it’s for high rollers only, but you’d be surprised how cost-effective it is to have someone be your personal driver for the day, versus the option of going all over town in cabs. The service I use in Vegas is called That Guy and Associates.
I call them up to a week before I know I’ll need something (sometimes up to a day before, expecting to pay a bit more, though). If it’s a ride, the person assigned to me will come and get me, stay with me if I need them to, take me to another destination if necessary, then drop me off where ever I like.
If I need an errand run, I email their general box, tell them what I need, and when. They’ve always been able to accomodate me, and let me tell you, I’ve made some pretty strange requests. Dozens of times they’ve saved my behind, and I wish there were a lot more appropriate times or places for me to publicize them, and services like theirs.
So, there’s the answer to how to be in two places at once. Don’t. Find a concierge service or a place to run your errands for you, and it will create time in your day.
