MedScan is an advanced scientific text mining software tool, automatically extracting biological facts from scientific literature and MEDLINE abstracts. MedScan extracts functional associations between proteins, cell processes and small molecules, recognizes types of regulatory mechanisms involved and the effects of regulation, and can be customized to extract other information.
