AVG makes free antivirus for Linux available

Well, if you loved them on Windows, then perhaps you can revive the love affair in your Linux box as well!

Grisoft’s Antivirus product AVG is being made available free to Linux home users, according to its Australian distributor Avalanche Technology Group.

AVG Free for Linux is free only to single Linux computers.

In a statement Peter Cameron, Business Development Director of Avalanche, said the growing popularity of the Linux operating system, meant it is only a “matter of time” before it becomes more widely targeted by virus and malware writers. [Read the rest]
