The timing here is amazing. Not only do we have Xandros making the announcement that they are ready for ‘Prime-Time’, but I also just got my links for their enterprise distro to boot. I’d share, but it is a reviewer’s copy.
Linux distro maker Xandros on Wednesday announced that it is shipping a new full-point release of the company’s Business Desktop OS, designed specifically for seamless compatibility with the latest Windows servers.
“We are constantly being asked when the Linux desktop will be ready for enterprise use, and my answer is, ‘Now!’” said Xandros CEO Andreas Typaldos.
As a special offer to coincide with the release of the third version of the company’s Business Desktop OS, Xandros will send a free sample of software to qualified companies so they can see for themselves, said Typaldos.
According to the company, the third version of the Xandros Business Desktop has been designed specifically to be compatible with Windows 2003 Server Service Pack 1.
