Put MP3 back in Fedora

Red Hat, in their infinite wisdom (that’s sarcasm y’all), stripped MP3 support from their distro due to patent concerns. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Fedora community had rectified that oversight, but after installing Fedora the other night, I realized I was mistaken. (I later realized I was thinking of yet another distro based on Fedora.)

Fortunately, adding MP3 support to XMMS and Rhythmbox is a snap. Check out this Linuxquestions.org forum thread and you’ll have MP3 playback on your Fedora system in no time.
