Grass Roots WiFi in London

Grass Roots WiFi in London

http://linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6161

You can probably guess that one of the highlights of Gnomedex, in my eyes, was
the talk by Doc Searls,
Senior Editor of Linux
Journal
, technologist and Linux advocate extraordinaire. I received my
September issue of the paper LJ in the week prior to Gnomedex and was
immediately fascinated by Doc’s feature on the underground WiFi movement in
London. This is a fascinating read, rich with the undertones that hold the Linux

community so firmly in place: DIY and the spirit of open access for all. It
looks like Doc was witness to warwalking and warchalking, a movement that’s now
become a worldwide effort. His account, as always, is crisp, entertaining and
cerebral - a combination that’s tough to find anywhere else.
