Wow, can we say iPod clone? Yes, I am just not all that impressed as yet another company tries to run with the whole Nano scene. Hey, at least they are not trying to hide the fact that this is a total knock off, right?
Hey, it’s one way to look at it if nothing else…
Alright. Another flash based MP3 player. You’ll excuse me if I don’t wet these old pantaloons over this one. The Gigabeat P5 NaNa has 512 MB of flash, a 1.1 inch screen, phto viewer, USB support, MP3/WAV/WMA/JPEG playback and 14 hours of battery life. It also looks quite similar to the iPod Nano, but you were expecting that, weren’t you?
Nano, NaNa. Oprah, Uma. One of those four are available for $139 from Japan on July 7th. – Jason Chen
Update: The NaNa is referring to the Anime series NaNa that’s popular in Japan right now. Thanks to everyone that mailed in. Source: Gizmodo

Grrr….I am absolutely furious! Nana is a famous manga in Japan and it’s also a live-action movie/anime. The Nana Toshiba Gigabeat is an inspiration of this manga. DO NOT INSULT IT BY SAYING IT”S A KNOCKOFF OF THE IPOD NANO!! Read from Nana-Nana.net what it is. It’s one of the BEST fan sites in the world! The reason why it’s available on July 7th is because that’s NANA day in Japan. August 8th is Hachi day. Nana addicts are getting really angry telling people that the Nana Gigabeat is NOT a Nano Ipod knock off. Screw you people!
