Are Gaming Notebook Vendors Afraid of MobilityGuru?

Speaking for myself, I believe that most notebook vendors are concerned with having their so-called ‘gaming notebooks’ really put to the test. Unfortunate, but I believe that the proof is in the pudding.

Last week MobilityGuru published Is Dell’s XPS M1710 The Fastest Graphics Notebook Ever? Part I. [Part II is coming soon.] Our audience flocked to the story. Some gave us feedback. Most of the feedback told us in no uncertain terms that we needed to look at other gaming notebooks. Here are a couple of the notes we received.

“You extolled the virtues of Dell’s newest laptop, but have you considered Hypersonic’s Aviator AX9 laptop with dual graphics cards in SLI? Hypersonic has some great claims, but I wonder if their laptops are really worth the price.”

So, for the umpteenth time, we contacted the two vendors above and those recommended in other feedback and on the MobilityGuru forum for the Dell article. We asked if they’d like to send us an evaluation loaner that we could put through our usual gaming notebook tests. We haven’t heard a peep from any of the vendors…. Source: Mobility Guru
