Square Enix announced yesterday that the Dear Friends, Music from Final Fantasy concert will be heading to Chicago for its second US performance February 19, 2005. The show made its first North American appearance this past May in Los Angeles, where it was very well received, selling out in just three days (not to mention the fact that it was held merely two days before E3). The response to the show spawned the idea of a US tour. “The first Final Fantasy concert in the US brought fans from far and wide together in Los Angeles to share in an unforgettable musical experience,” noted Ichiro Otobe (president and COO of Square Enix, Inc). “We are pleased to announce that, due to the overwhelmingly positive response, a North American tour will soon bring the emotionally moving and powerful scores to fans across the country.” The concert lasts approximately two hours, and features images from the games projected onto giant screens to accent the award winning music by Nobuo Uematsu. The concert will be conducted by Arnie Roth and performed by the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra and their Festival Choir. Those wishing to purchase tickets can do so now online at Ticketmaster, the prices range from $33 to $125.
