I read a article this morning which indicated that Microsoft had a extension for Firefox for one if it’s products. Interesting if true.

And it’s true. The folks over at Microsoft Live Labs PhotoSynth confirmed that back in January a extension for the program was introduced for the Firefox browser. Which is a turn of events, since normally Microsoft has restricted the use of Firefox on some of their main web sites. As a example, if I try to log into my MS Connect account on Microsoft’s site, Firefox will either not display the pages correctly or I receive a error message stating the site requires IE.

So what is PhotoSynth? It is a software product that allows a user to do the following:

• “Walk or fly through a scene to see photos from any angle.
• Seamlessly zoom in or out of a photo whether it’s megapixels or gigapixels in size.
• See where pictures were taken in relation to one another.
• Find similar photos to the one you’re currently viewing.
• Send a collection - or a particular view of one - to a friend.”

And there are some very strict system requirements for using PhotoSynth as well. Make sure you check this out before trying this software. Of partuclar note is that 1G of Ram is recommended.
