A War Of The Carriers
If you’ve watched TV just a little bit in the last few months, you’ve probably seen commercials from either Verizon or AT&T bashing the other company. And if you’ve been on the Internet just a little bit in the last few months, you’ve probably seen banner ads for one of the companies, with a statement telling you why it’s better than the other company.
This “war” between Verizon and AT&T has been going on for a couple of months. But to be fair to AT&T, Verizon is the one that started the war, with the “There’s a map for that!” campaign, showing its map that was full of coverage areas, and an AT&T map that was really quite spotty.
Apparently, AT&T didn’t like this too much, and it retaliated with its own commercials as to why it is better than Verizon.
This whole “war” has surely put a lot of pressure on the two companies. But it has put pressure on the consumers, too.
While AT&T and Verizon are busy trying to get more customers, consumers are sitting on the sidelines watching the war, and if they’re a first time cell phone buyer, they don’t know which company to go to.
And with these companies putting all this pressure on consumers, they are losing more money than they are gaining, because people don’t know if they should go to AT&T or Verizon, so they pick another network like Sprint or T-Mobile.
And there is another reason why they are losing customers, too. People are disgusted with the audacity of AT&T and Verizon and the fact that they want the money so bad they are bashing each other on national television. So they go to another network. That’s what I would have done, but I was already locked into a two-year contract with Verizon.
If these two companies would just settle this war, they would start making more money again. I guarantee it.
If this is how far Verizon and AT&T are willing to go, how long will it be until Sprint and T-Mobile are in a war like this with each other?
What do you think about this whole thing? We would love to hear your comments!

My name is Mark Devens. I live in southern Minnesota, where the winters are long and cold, and the summers are just as long but a lot more humid. I love to write. I write everything from poems to tutorials, and enjoy every second I’m doing it. When I’m not writing, I like to work on computers, play with gadgets, and help people with anything they may need help with, tech related or not. I do some fishing, but not a lot. I’m much more of an inside person than an outside person. Since I’m inside so much, I often am very bored, and that’s how I manage to get so much writing in.
