Remember MST3K?

Remember Mystery Science Theater 3000 (aka MST3K)? The premise: A mad scientist stranded a human guinea pig in a satellite orbiting Earth and forced him to watch the worst movies ever made in an attempt to see what would make him crack — potentially to be utilized as a weapon for world domination. For company, the human guinea pig created two robot pals, and the three of them would watch these bottom-of-the-barrel movies together — all the time cracking wise for our viewing pleasure.

Fast forward to the 21st Century. MST3K may have been canceled long ago, but some of its creative masterminds have created this little thing called RiffTrax. No longer confined to making fun of the crappiest of crappy movies, RiffTrax are commentaries designed to be played along with even your favorite DVDs. Instead of having to sit through Santa Claus vs. The Martians, how about 300? A Harry Potter movie? Lord of the Rings? The Matrix? Maybe the recent batch of Star Wars flicks? (Okay, we didn’t say crappy movies were completely off limits. But you get the idea.)

Featuring guest riffers like ”Weird Al” Yankovic and Neil Patrick Harris as well as veteran cast members from the MST3K series — and maybe even you if you have what it takes to make your own iRiffs, RiffTrax is a million dollars’ worth of fun for a pocket full of lint and pennies.

It’s not as yucky as it sounds. All we are saying is give RiffTrax a chance!
