How Do I Add Lyrics To iTunes?

  • No Related Post

One of the coolest toys around these days is the iPod, manufactured by Apple. It uses a program called iTunes to add and remove music to the iPod. But did you know that you could add the lyrics to the songs on your iPod, and without too much hassle?

You can actually add lyrics to songs in iTunes. The lyrics are stored in the song’s information/identification boxes. This would allow you to sing along to your favorite songs while your iPod displays the song’s lyrics when the song is playing. Here’s how to have some fun!

Locate the iTunes icon on your computer’s desktop or on one of the icon toolbars on the bottom of your screen. Open iTunes so that you can take the following actions.

Scroll through the songs in your music library. When you find the song that you would like to edit, highlight it with the mouse. Go to the File menu and choose the command Get Info. This allows you to access the identification information for that particular song. Look for the information screen. The info screen for that particular song will now appear. This screen will have several textboxes to record the song’s information. At the top of this screen are five tabs. Click the fourth tab which says Lyrics. Now you will see a big empty text box. Move the mouse cursor into the text box and begin typing the lyrics to the song. Apply your changes. When you are done with this screen, you can click OK to apply the new lyrics to your song’s ID3, or you can click Cancel to exit without applying any of the changes you may have checked.

That wasn’t too bad, was it? Files that you download through iTunes may already come with correct ID3 tags and lyrics. Depending on the settings of your iPod’s automatic organization features, changing the ID3 information of a song may have an effect on where iTunes chooses to store that particular song.

Do you have a question that you want answered? So do we! But we’re at a loss for the answer to our question. So why don’t you just ask us your question at How Do I? and see if either we can or one of our many viewers can answer it? Maybe…
