Video games are a fun way to suck time out of your life. But some game designers make their games incredibly frustrating to play. Gamers just want to have fun. Challenges are one thing, but insane levels that must be repeated fifty times to be completed are just… well… insane!
That’s why cheat codes exist. Well, that’s one reason. Another is because the developers will occasionally code in some real cool stuff that you can do only if you know the cheat code.
So how do you find cheat codes?
CheatCodes.com provides a solution. The site lists cheat codes for Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, Gamecube, PC, PlayStation, Dreamcast, and others. Simply click a game system to find cheat codes that can turn you invincible, help you fly, or let you discover an Easter egg planted by a creative developer.

The best cheat database I’ve ever found is called, naturally, “Cheatbook Database,” which claims cheats for some 16,000 games, mostly PC, but also covering console systems as well. You can also add your own cheats. It includes cheaps for some older games too, which surprised me. It can be had at http://www.cheatbook.de, and you don’t have to deal with all those ads and popups that are at cheatcodes.com.
