Nemoptic Launches New A4 High-Resolution E-Paper Display

Nemoptic, an e-paper display company for consumer and professional handheld devices, has announced that the company is launching a new A4 e-paper display. A4 e-paper displays (210 x 297mm) allow content to be updated frequently and let users save paper, as documents can be viewed on screen. Nemoptic and office equipment suppliers see growth potential for competitively priced A4 e-paper displays for application in business and government offices, and point of sale displays. Nemoptic has already shipped samples to major office equipment clients.

Offering a resolution of 200 dpi, the highest in the market for passive A4 e-paper displays, this black & white display has a high image quality, which enables excellent readability that is comparable to print on paper. It offers 1650 x 2340 pixels and a screen refreshing time of less than 1 second, and is less than 2mm thick. Display brightness is above 30 percent and does not need power except for image changes.

“We have been approached by large office equipment suppliers looking for more productive and environmentally friendly solutions to the increasing volumes of plain paper being processed in the office,” said Jacques Noels, CEO at Nemoptic. “In future, offices workers could be producing e-mail, business documents, graphics and maps, interactive data collection on electronic paper rather than plain paper. Our A4 BiNem displays are now ready to seize market opportunities in this segment.”

The A4 BiNem display expands Nemoptic’s e-paper product portfolio, which now ranges from 3 inch Electronic Shelf Labels to A4 size. The range covers e-paper display sizes such as 4.5 inches for e-dictionaries and A7 for e-books and e-newspapers, as well as other prototyping and evaluation kit dimensions.

Nemoptic will demonstrate static and dynamic A4 e-paper displays as well as its other products at the Society for Information Display (SID) 2007 International Symposium, Seminar & Exhibition, booth No. 1453. The conference is being held May 20 - 25, at the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, CA.
