Cell phones have been linked to many things, such as brain tumors, increased auto accidents due to inattention, but male infertility? That actually makes me worry more.
There was a study last year, and now new results published just this past Sunday at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s annual meeting seem to confirm this.
Between September 2004 and October 2005, a total of 364 males were evaluated by researchers from Cleveland Clinic, the Tulane University Health Sciences Center, and the Karthekeya Medical Research and Diagnostic Center in Mumbai. The study found that men who use their mobile devices for more than four hours per day were far more likely to have problems with sperm viability that could lead to infertility problems. We Say: Naturally, I’m wondering how the radiation in the general area of your ear will affect fertility. I’m glad to see the researchers say more investigation is necessary, but they also indicate that maybe the problem is not radiation but battery heat. Once again I wonder how that heat around the area of your head affects your sperm count.
