Michael Santo of RealTechNews writes:

Use Yahoo! Messenger with Voice and you can now conference in 499 of your friends, thanks to a deal Yahoo! has made with Vapps Inc.

The service, called ConFreeCall, will be available for download through Yahoo! Messenger with Voice service, allowing friends or families to hold free conference calls to complement Yahoo!’s existing text, voice and photo-sharing services. Yahoo! Messenger with Voice subscribers can find the ConFreeCall application in the Yahoo! Messenger plug-in gallery. The service is also available directly from Vapps. [Source: Yahoo! News]

We Say: Now I just have to find 499 friends who use Yahoo! Messenger. Since I have friends using a variety of IM services, that’s probably not going to be too easy. Heck, it wouldn’t be easy even if they all used Yahoo! Messenger.

Vapps used to charge 6 cents a minute for a conference call, FYI.

About RealTechNews
When blogs became “hot,” we looked at the category and found a gap. Tech blogs were furiously covering gadgets and gizmos and new products from Asia, and the mainstream tech sites were diligently doing product reviews and news items, but no one was really sitting in the middle and bringing the best of both worlds to one place. Enter RealTechNews (RTN). Our mission is simple: We aim to bridge the gap between the informal and mostly amateur-run tech blogs and the polished but often slow and advertiser-supported tech portals.
