Wi-Fi Nabaztag (Rabbit) Reads RSS To You

Michael Santo of RealTechNews writes:

Alice wrote earlier about “Cutie Quake” which was… well, almost too cute. Now we have the Nabaztag (which means rabbit in Armenian). It uses has a Wi-Fi connection and reads things like RSS feeds, e-mails, and weather reports out loud.

The Nabaztag rabbit is currently available for purchase in the U.S. from ThinkGeek, or directly from Nabaztag.com, for $149.99. While the Nabaztag will work with any Wi-Fi network, it does need to be plugged into an electrical outlet for power. Once the Nabaztag rabbit is connected, its owner registers it online, gives it an official name, and chooses one of the subscription services designed to work with it.

Basic services-an alarm-clock feature, weather reports, stock updates and e-mail alerts-are free. Premium services, such as reading e-mails and RSS feeds or playing MP3s, range in price from $5 to about $7.50 a month. Service options for the American market are being rolled out gradually. As of August, for example, U.S. Nabaztag owners have been able to receive text messages and voice mail from any mobile phone. [Source: News.com]

We Say: It has still cuter functions. You can marry them, so that (anywhere in the world) you can move your rabbit’s ears and the spouse’s ears will move the same way. They can be also be programmed to move their ears and light up in time with music. It’s about nine inches tall. Thing is, right now I feel like I have to brush my teeth ’cause this is just so sugary sweet!

About RealTechNews
When blogs became “hot,” we looked at the category and found a gap. Tech blogs were furiously covering gadgets and gizmos and new products from Asia, and the mainstream tech sites were diligently doing product reviews and news items, but no one was really sitting in the middle and bringing the best of both worlds to one place. Enter RealTechNews (RTN). Our mission is simple: We aim to bridge the gap between the informal and mostly amateur-run tech blogs and the polished but often slow and advertiser-supported tech portals.
