Another One Bites The Dust

Software602… Not exactly a household name, UNLESS you’ve ever been in the market for a Microsoft Office replacement package. Not only that, but it was FREE. Yes, I said “was.”

For quite a few years, this was (IMO) the best of the Office replacements. The software has that solid feel and polish that can only come with years of fine tuning and bug-chasing. The best part of the package (to many) was that it was free, unlike the Microsoft product.

All that has changed recently, much to my dismay. I spent a lot of time spreading the word about the company and the software, but such a good product breeds its own success story and the maove away from offering the software for free.

The software is still a good deal, with prices under $50 for the single-system version. There’s a LAN-wide version that is a bit more, but still comfortably below $100. For full pricing and other details, visit the Software602 Web site.
