Self-funded by online sales, Mp3Car.com’s product was co-developed and co-branded with Intel and features a Fujitsu Automotive docking station with StreetDeck.com software. Apparently the device is easy and relatively fast to install. Navigation features are strong with an inviting and professional looking user interface. Other features include mobile Internet access, cellphone integration and, of course, MP3/DVD/CD playback.
The automotive accessory market it huge. Like $6B according to Gartner.
Opinion
I missed part of the 6-minute demo while I was messing with connectivity issues. Why can’t conferences like this get WiFi right? I had to switch to Verizon’s EVDO which isn’t ideal. Plus, my Acura TL has nav built-in, so I zoned a little on this one.
