Sun Java Vulnerabilities

  • No Related Post

The vulnerabilities are critical, allow system access from remote, and affect Java 1.3.1 and later on Linux, Solaris, and Windows - both the runtime (JRE) and the developers‘ kit (JDK or SDK).

There’s a new version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment out (what Microsoft called the Java Virtual Machine). Getting it and installing it will eliminate the vulnerability - if that is the only version of the runtime you have on your computer.

Sun does not recommend uninstalling older versions of the runtime before installing the latest version. You can get the update for the 1.4.x version here and for the 1.3.x version here.
