TiVo owners can now program their TiVos through Yahoo! TV’s Web interface, selecting shows for recording right from the comfort of their own computer screen.
The service is free, and anyone with a TiVo Series2 machine and a regular Yahoo! i.d. can use the service “to request, via TiVo’s scheduling technology, recordings of their favorite TV shows on their TiVo Series2 devices from anywhere they access Yahoo!”
According to Tom Rogers, CEO of TiVo, “Working with Yahoo! is another way for us to deliver the best way to watch television and give viewers control of the television experience. Beginning today, we’re giving Yahoo! users - whether they’re at the office or away from home - the ability to easily schedule recordings for later viewing.”
In addition, according to a Yahoo! News report, “Yahoo’s traffic and weather content, as well as its users’ photos will be viewable on televisions…
