This must be our version of green day here at RTN, but we came across an interesting article that demonstrated how to convert your car to hydrogen as a fuel source for $130. Sounded intriguing but unlikely, so we decided to go under the hood, courtesy of the folks at Motor Trend. Bottom Line: Save your $130 for a barrel of oil. This technology is bogus, but real hydrogen tech also covered in the piece could get here by 2010.
“That’s right! Simply splice a foot-long tube into your fuel line, hook up a couple of wires to 12-volt power, and magnetized plasma, photons, microwaves, sound waves, surface waves, electrostatic ion-cyclotron waves, quantum waves, and even Alfen waves will go to work generating hydrogen from whatever fuel your car burns to boost fuel economy by 10 percent while slashing emissions. Or so gushes the Web site advertising the Hydrodrive Electronic Catalytic Converter, invented and manufactured in Madras, India.”

is an interesting conversion that probably didn’t cost $30. Prof. McA. explains how to make your engine much more efficient by throwing away the carb/ fuel injection plumbing and regaining energy lost creating vacuum and less heat loss by using faster burning fuels that can be ignited closer to or at TDC .. C’mon you guys ..most cities have commercial gases for sale and the fork lift technology to go with it (tank regulators and jets) can easily be installed in YOUR car TODAY P&L Ja

Bad idea to take Fuel into Electric power to split water, you gain nothing.

im trying to do this myself. i bought the hydrogen plates so far. im setting up the whole thing by myself. i just need knowhow on cars ahaha. btw.. oil companies are so desperate now that cheveron is in 100 miles off shore digging a hole 5 miles deep to HOPEFULLY hit a 10,000 by 10,000 square foot “Top of the iceberg” of oil. what the hell are they going to do once we run out of oil around 2080? gaurd the oceans from people with water purifiers? tax the ocean? i hope this 600 dollars bush is sending everyone helps the minimum wage workers with 15%-20% INCOME GOING TO GASOLINE. 200 years of learning how to control the uncontrolable and the usa did it.

Prof McA is a complete moron if he thinks he can make a gasoline engine run on gasoline without a carb or fuel injection.

You have to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen! It didn’t work for you because you have an O2 sensor which sensed the extra oxygen, thus enrichening the fuel-air mixture… making it too rich.
