Steve Jobs Called: He Wants His Hardware Back

So I’m sitting here thinking about the iPhone and how Apple potentially made a serious strategic blunder by not doing the hardware itself. I mean, that’s what Apple does well and even though Motorola is doing better now with the Razr, the new iPhone looks ugly and featureless to me. (100 songs?) And it turns out I am not alone. Check out what RedHerring had to say:
“A track downloaded from iTunes, on the other hand, is only $0.99, meaning all those players would have much less to share. If Apple develops its own phones and sells the devices through its own phone service, it can keep all the profits to itself. ‘We question Apple’s motive to partner with Motorola and not make any money when they themselves are a hardware manufacturer,” said Mr. Munster.
