Alice’s Rant of the Day:For years I have been ranting like a crazy person about the fact that land line phones had fallen dangerously behind their cell phone brethren. Why couldn’t a cordless home phone have a color display and custom ringtones that tie to the incoming phone number?

The latest phone I got from AT&T lets me put blocky black and white cat and horse icons on the phone’s LCD display, but aside from being ugly and embarrassing, they serve no purpose. Why can’t a pic of my friend pop up when they call just like what happens on my cell phone?

Well, at least today I found a product that will let you add in custom ring tones to your phone. It’s a little box called the Jingle Ring Deluxe.
