Yahoo! hands over dead man’s email

Well, it is a start I guess. Yahoo complied with the court order to turn on the email contents from the deceased Justin Ellsworth, a US Marine killed in Iraq. The problem remaining is that the contents received are only the stuff that was sent, not received by Justin.
Email provider Yahoo has complied with a court order to give a dead soldier’s email account to his parents.
Lance Corporal Justin Ellsworth, a US Marine, was killed while working for the US army in Iraq. His parents asked Yahoo for access to his email account but the company turned them down, according to AP.
But on Wednesday of last week a judge in Oakland Co, Michigan ordered Yahoo to hand over access to the account. Yahoo did not fight the ruling but wanted legal clarification. [Read the rest]
